This guilt that will crush me

Rukia is a strange one. She has two sides to her. Around her close friends (her "nakama", as she calls them) she's relaxed and somewhat temperamental. The little fights she and Ichigo get in often serve as comedic relief throughout the series. When she's alone, however, she's introverted and tends to avoid socializing. If she has to, she'll go along with a group, but tends not to speak unless spoken to. Another source of comedy in the series is Rukia's lack of knowledge about the physical world. To counterattack this, she relies on manga to learn how to do things and speak modern Japanese. She's extremely self-sacrificial, and is willing to die in a second if it means saving someone else, especially when this comes to someone like Ichigo or Renji. It seems as though she finds herself somewhat worthless, accepting everything that happens to her as something she deserves. In this vein, she absolutely cannot stand anyone getting hurt because of or for her. This comes, in part, from the immense guilt (think enough to rival Cloud's) over her part in Kaien Shiba's death.
Ichigo has probably had the biggest influence on her life and personality. Prior to meeting him, she tended to view the world in black and white, bad and good. He, however, has always had a sort of "gray" view to counter hers, which frustrates her at times but has doubtlessly changed her views. Ichigo has changed the way she looks at the world and especially the people in it, and she's become a better person for it, more at peace with herself. He gave her a reason to continue and hope, probably because he reminds her so much of Kaien. Whenever Rukia is around Renji or Ichigo, she becomes hot-headed and temperamental, but in an adoring way. When Ichigo showed up to save her from execution, she said, "You idiot! I told you not to come! I told you… I forbade you to come!" But, contrasting her anger, there were tears in her eyes and she was obviously frightened for his wellbeing.
Rukia is much, much more sentimental and sensitive than she will ever admit, and has a ton of quirks. She loves to draw, but is absolutely terrible at it, and loves bunnies, always trying to get things with bunnies on them, a huge contrast to the way she presents herself as cold and serious. She's suffered a great deal throughout her life, but almost never shows her emotions, except around her close friends, and never complains. As a result, not many people know much about her, except that she respects and cares for her brother Byakuya. She, however, though he didn't care for her up until recently. Byakuya has since become more kind towards her, albeit in a distant way. His acceptance was probably one of the most important things to happen to her. It caused her to open up (just a bit!) and work towards something better, especially with the realization that she isn't alone anymore and there are people who care for her greatly.
